Application period for our 2025-2026 school year will conclude on May 30, 2025. Please be sure to complete your child’s application package before the deadline.

Re-enrolling Students: An email was sent to you on xx. Please check your inbox for re-enrollment instructions and deadlines.

How To Apply

To Apply, Please Follow the 4 Steps Below to Begin the Admissions Process:

Step 1: Complete the online application form* and upload the following:

  • Applicant’s Photo (2×2 inches, white collared shirt with a dark blue or black tie, white background)

  • Artistic Portfolio (required of all arts track applicants), if applicable

  • Transcript/grade report(s) for the past 12 months

  • Obtain at least two student recommendation letters (one from an English teacher, and another from a Math teacher)

  • Proof of Residency

(incl. $100 non-refundable application fee)

*Applications must be completed within one month to remain active. Failure to do so will result in application dormancy. An additional fee of $50 will be required to reactivate a dormant application.

Step 2: Complete the online English and Math assessment

(please check your inbox for the assessment link and log-in information)

Step 3: Attend an admissions interview/audition, typically scheduled after completing Step 3 and all required documents has been received by the Admissions Office (Check your inbox for the interview notification email)

Step 4: A decision notice is typically sent within 2 weeks of submitting the complete application package (Steps 1-3)

Northern Academy’s application period for the 2025-2026 school year will conclude on May 30, 2025, and any incomplete application package will be canceled after this date.

Tuition & Financial Aid

The following table provides the tuition and fees, plus an estimate of the cost of living and other expenses a full-time student is expected to incur per year.

Northern Academy Middle and High School tuition covers instructions Monday through Friday, with

  • Academic and art programs up to 3:00 pm
  • Etiquette, health, and physical education programs
  • Onsite day lunch, one-time SAT exam, counseling, college planning and graduation related services
  • Student pickup time is within 30 minutes of the last class of the day, between 3:00pm to 3:30pm

The boarding tuition covers room and board Monday through Sunday, with

  • Co-curricular Program Fees
  • After-school and non-school day activities
  • Residential life skill learning
  • Transportation of school sponsored evening, weekend, and holiday trips
  • Meals covered Monday to Sunday

Northern Academy Middle and High School Fees:

  • General Fee: $695 (technology, library, counseling, nurse, year book, transportation for school sponsored trips)
  • Senior Fee: $200
  • ENL (also called ESL) Fee: $5,000 for ENL1/2, $3,000 for ENL3
  • School Uniform: $350-$450, (direct purchase from Lands’ End)
  • Standardized Testing Fees (PSAT, SAT, ACT, AP exams): Variable between $45-$200
  • International Student Service: New international student $3,000, Continuing international student $2,000
  • Co-curricular Program Fees: New students $2,000 (Afternoon programs up to 5 pm. Options include dance, music*, fine arts, athletics, science, and more)
  • *Individual Music Classes: $60-$1,600 (arranged privately with individual teachers. Paid directly to the teacher)

Northern Academy of the Arts strives to provide financial aid to qualified students based on each student’s need and merit.

  • Financial aid is normally awarded on a yearly basis with the possibility of renewal.
  • Qualified applicants with financial difficulties may pay a sliding scale tuition.
  • Students seeking financial aid in their first year must apply concurrently with the application for admission.
